Classification and production process of gear shafts!
Release time:2023-05-24
Gear shaft refers to a mechanical part that supports and rotates with a rotating part to transmit motion, torque or bending moment. Generally, it is in the shape of a metal round rod, and each section can have different diameters. The parts that rotate in the machine are installed on the shaft.
Classification of gear shafts:
According to the shape of the axis, the shaft can be divided into two categories: crankshaft and straight shaft. According to the bearing situation of the shaft, it can be divided into:
① The rotating shaft, which bears both bending moment and torque when working, is the most common shaft in machinery, such as the shaft in various reducers.
② The mandrel is used to support the rotating parts and only bears the bending moment without transmitting the torque. Some mandrel rotates, such as the shaft of a railway vehicle, etc., and some mandrel does not rotate, such as the shaft supporting the pulley.
③ The transmission shaft is mainly used to transmit torque without bearing bending moment, such as the long optical shaft in the crane moving mechanism, the drive shaft of the car, etc.
Processing technology of gear shaft:
  1. Blank blanking
  2. Rough car
  3. Quenching and tempering treatment (improve the toughness of the gear shaft and the stiffness of the shaft)
  4. Fine car tooth blank to size
  5. If there is a keyway on the shaft, the keyway can be processed first
  6. Hobbing
  7. Tooth surface intermediate frequency quenching (high frequency quenching for pinions), quenching hardness HRC48-58 (the specific hardness value needs to be determined according to working conditions, loads and other factors)
  8. Grinding teeth
  9. Final inspection of finished products
